Initially she started in the legal department at Columbia Studios, then a fated meeting with Denzel Washington led to the start of a long and successful career as a producer! She led Washington's Mundy Lane Entertainment from 1992 to 1995 then Whitney Houston's Brown House Productions from 1995 to 2000, leading up to her very own production company in 200o, appropriately named, Martin Chase Productions.
